Trial and license
The 14-day trial of the desktop app, how a license key works, and what is different about buying the Android app.
The trial
The desktop app starts a 14-day trial the first time it opens, with every feature enabled. Each time you open the app during the trial, a dialog tells you how many days are left; Continue trial closes it and you carry on writing.
When the trial ends you can still open, read, print and export your documents, so nothing you wrote is locked away. Editing is disabled until you enter a license key.
The license key
A license is a one-time purchase, with no subscription, and it covers Windows, Mac and Linux: the same key works on all three. Type it in the dialog that opens with the app and press Activate.
The key is stored on the computer where you entered it, so you type it once per computer. If you reinstall the system, you will be asked for it again: keep the purchase email.
Android
The Android app is bought on Google Play and has no license key: the purchase is tied to your Google account, as with any paid app. It is a separate purchase from the desktop license, also paid once.
There is no trial on Android, because Google Play does not allow trials for paid apps. It comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee instead, the same as the desktop app: if it is not for you, write to [email protected] within 30 days and we will refund your purchase.
